Acanthoma Fissuratum



Acanthoma fissuratum or have other names such as Granuloma fissuratum, spectacle frame granuloma, acanthoma fissuratum cutis . This dermatology problems is caused by  Keratotic papule or nodule which develops at the site of chronic irritation, such as under eye glasses or in the oral cavity. 
The pathogenesis is Chronic contact irritation; includes other factors such as local anatomic changes, seborrheic dermatitis, and hyperhidrosis
Clinical manifestation Oral cavity: solitary smooth-surfaced papule at the juncture of the lip and gum Face or post-auricular fold: pink papule with a longitudinal central fissure
Differential diagnosis is Oral cavity: squamous cell carcinoma. Skin: basal cell carcinoma; foreign body granuloma; chondrodermatitis nodularis helicis
Therapies  for this dermatology problem are  Removal of stimulus by changing eye glasses, dentures, etc.; surgical excision in recalcitrant cases.
